We would just like to say a big thankyou to our loyal pupils who have recently returned to driving lessons due to the recent Covid restrictions. At the moment we have limited lesson availability but we will have another driving instructor joining Tendring School of Motoring very soon which will help us manage the current demand. ... Driving lesson update 25th June

Jacob Rees-Mogg announced in parliament today, and this has subsequently been confirmed by the DVSA on twitter, that driving lessons can resume from 4th July. We have been informed that we will receive an email from the DVSA with clarifications and details later today. Once we receive this we will be able to make a formal announcement on the resumption of lessons and will begin planning immediately to get everyone booked in. Unfortunately at the moment this does not state that driving tests will be starting again immediately. So watch this space for more news.

COVID-19 UPDATE TUESDAY 23 JUNE 2020

Hello everyone, We hope you’re all safe and well and continuing to follow the government guidelines. 😀

To update you all on where we are at regarding the current COVID-19 situation, We originally planned that suspending all driving lessons and temporarily closing the driving school would have been for a shorter period of time than it has been. Unfortunately due to continuing measures(even though they are gradually being eased) , social distancing and for everyone’s safety, we will still need to continue with the suspension of all driving lessons until we hear further information from the DVSA, DIA and Government.

Going by the information the government has provided today, we are expecting the opening up of the country from 'hibernation' to continue to affect many people including driving instructors like us. 😢

Once more information is given regarding driving lessons and restarting teaching, we will update you all again. Hopefully this will be to arrange to get everyone booked back in again as soon as safely possible, as always your safety and well-being still continues to be our top priority in this whole situation. ⚠️

Well done to everyone who has been studying for their theory test, please keep doing so, those who haven’t started, please please make a start on it and continue to keep knowledge fresh. 📚 🚘

Most importantly to you and your families, please continue to stay safe and well, we hope to see you all very soon.

Driving Lessons Update:

We have finally received an update from the DVSA regarding driving lessons.
Unfortunately it is not great news, driving lessons are suspended until further notice for all driving instructors.
Critical and key workers with tests booked are the only people allowed driving lessons at the current time.

Practical tests have also been put on ‘hold’ which means those that had tests postponed in March will have priority when they are rebooked.

Tests won’t resume until the DVSA have worked out how many examiners are coming back and test centres have been checked to ensure they comply with the latest government guidelines.

Instructors have been assured they will be given plenty of notice before tests resume to ensure pupils that have priority booking have time to get ready for their test.

As soon as we receive any updates we will let you know.

In the meantime please stay safe.

• Update on Driving Lessons •

We understand learner drivers are eager to restart lessons and we have been asked by several of our pupils today if they can restart lessons as they have seen other instructors giving lessons.
We can’t comment on what other instructors are doing and it could be that they are giving lessons to key workers who have an emergency test.

However, in order to protect the health and safety of our instructors, pupils and their families we will continue to adhere to the official advice from both the DVSA and the Driving Instructors Association. This means that we will not restart lessons until we have official advice to do so and that it is safe for our instructors and pupils.

Being in such close proximity in an enclosed car puts lessons in a high risk category. This is why driving tests are also currently on hold.
We understand that the delay is frustrating and we will do all we can to get you onto the road as soon as it is safe to do so.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.
